Ana was born in Gothenburg, Sweden to Rolph and Carina Johnsson but later moved to Sunne, a village in the province of Värmland.

She became fed up with school and went to USA as an exchange student. She took up skiing as a hobby and is now a semi-professional snowboard artist. She competed and traveled around the US and at one point, she came 5th and 6th in a championship in 1996. Eventually she came back to Sweden in 2001, finished high school and started working at various jobs.

She is fluent in 4 languages - Swedish, English, German and Norwegian.

Johnsson's singing talents started when she was a teenager and became a singer of coverband @groove and moved to Karlstad.

But her big break started when she heard about the first season of Popstars in Sweden and decided to give it a go. She succeeded in the final and Ana, Jenny Karolina, Kristina Bergfoth, Malin Catharina Olsson and Susanna Emily Anna Patoleta formed the band "Excellence". They were a huge success, sold many albums and completed a sold out tour.

However, "Excellence" wasn't Johnsson's style of music and she left the band, working as a solo artist. In the autumn of 2003, she released "The Way I Am" on the radio and it developed into a radio hit in Sweden and Germany and it gave her a nomination for the 2004 NRJ Awards in Stockholm. She released her debut album "Cuz I Can" in 2004 soon after. This album was only released in Sweden.
"We are" the spiderman II soundtrack became a big hit and she released her second album "The Way I Am", which took her a year to make and features some songs from Cuz I Can. She says that the 14 songs in the album all have a deep meaning to her. Next singles released include "Don't Cry for Pain", a rock ballad where she advises a wife being beaten up by her husband to stand up for her rights, and "Coz I Can", a rock song about teasing the man, showing that women have power too. Both songs were less successful than "We Are" though.
Now, after a little break, Ana has finished her new work, it's gonna be called "little angel" . Released on 18th October. She also has been working again in some soundtracks, "fate" featuring Bleak and Kimmo Pohjonen (Jade Warrior), and the one that is the new single (after "days of summer"), "exception"  the soundtrack for the Swedish movie "Exit". Biografía en castellano

Ana es una joven cantante que nació en suecia, el 4 de octubre de 1977,
vivió su infancia en Sunne (un pueblo en el centro
de Suecia, provincia de Varmland).
Aunque de adolescente viajó a EE.UU. y realizó uno
de sus hobbies, el snowboard, un hobbie con el cual
obtuvo algunos buenos resultados. La canción
"L.A." (refleja parte de su estancia allí).
Más tarde regresaría a Suecia cuando se dio cuenta de
que su gran pasión era la música. Una vez allí participó
en el concurso de popstar y una vez acabado el concurso, formó parte del grupo llamado Excellence, aunque más
tarde lo dejaría para realizarse como solista. Como solista sacó su primer disco llamado "Cuz I Can"
(sólo en Suecia).
En Otoño de 2004 su single "The Way I Am", se
escuchó en las radios de su país, además de en las radios alemanas y por ello recibió varias nominaciones en los
NRJ Awards 2004 en Estocolmo.
Ana además de cantante, compone sus canciones junto
a Marcus Bleak y Leif Larsson. De su disco "Cuz I Can"
se puede decir que es una mezcla de rock y R&B.
Ana explica que las canciones son muy importantes para
ella. Las letras de las canciones reflejan como vivimos
hoy en día: "The assertion that looks are so
importan-some girls really believe that they need
to look like Barbie dolls with naked midriff.
That’s just crazy...!"
Gracias a la banda sonora de Spider-man 2 a Ana se le
dio la oportunidad de darse a conocer internacionalmente
con su single "We Are" en cuyo video clip, aparecen
algunas secuencias de la película.
   "Don't Cry For Pain" fue su segundo single, seguido del actual llamado "Coz I Can", el cual está actualmente cosechando éxitos en el norte de Europa.

Ahora, después de un pequeño parón, Ana ha acabado su nuevo trabajo, se llamará  "little angel". Sale a la venta el día 18 de Octubre. También ha estado trabajando de nuevo en algunas bandas sonoras, "fate" , en la que colabora con Bleak y Kimmo Pohjonen para la película "Jade Warrior.
